Perfectionism Isn’t a Flex. It’s Fear in Disguise.

Perfectionism might be the most socially acceptable form of self-sabotage.
You get rewarded for your high standards. For being “on top of it.” For being the one who always delivers.
But here’s the thing you aren’t realizing…that drive you’re celebrated for? It’s coming at a cost. One you can’t keep paying forever. One that is destroying your body and getting in the way of you operating at your highest level of self.
When I ran my first company, I thought being a perfectionist made me a great leader. But after years of working myself into burnout over and over again, selling my businesses and starting again, I realized that what perfectionism was actually doing was:
Keeping me in constant overdrive
Disconnecting me from my team
Pushed me to my lowest point
And looked like “excellence” on paper was actually fear, shame, and control in disguise.
Why this matters
Perfectionism in leadership doesn’t just slow projects and get in the way of success. It rewires your nervous system to associate visibility, growth, and delegation with danger. And that’s not just a mindset issue; it’s a survival response.
3 hidden costs of perfectionism in your business
Delayed growth. You wait to launch the offer. You wait to pitch the workshop. You wait to delegate. By the time you’re “ready,” the moment (and momentum) is gone.
Team tension: Your team feels the pressure, even if you don’t say a word. That tension turns into turnover. Disengagement. Quiet resentment.
Self-trust erosion: When nothing ever feels “done,” you stop trusting yourself. And if you don’t trust yourself, neither will your clients.
What I teach my clients:
Hey babe! Wanted to update you that last month I hit $15k in revenue. 🤯🤯 The work you and I have done just keeps giving and I truly feel so much more aligned, empowered and confident in myself, my program, and my abilities every single day. Love you 🤍💫✨
Perfectionism doesn’t disappear with more productivity. It disappears when your body feels safe enough to loosen its grip on your nervous system.
Inside my work, we combine:
Nervous system regulation
Shadow and identity work
Reframing your self-concept
Somatic release
Nervous-system-safe leadership strategies
This isn’t surface-level mindset work; it’s full-body, long-term rewiring.
You’re not broken
If you’re starting to realize you’ve been leading from pressure, not power, you don’t need another productivity tool. You need a nervous system reset.

I'd love to hear from you!
Where is perfectionism costing you the most right now? Your health? Your joy? Your voice? Reply and let me know. I read every note!
P.S. I’m still thinking about July’s Soulgasm. It was electric! I shared my own story – how, through grief, grit, and grace, I rebuilt everything after feeling completely unanchored. Then we did some breath work. The ladies left feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply reconnected to their power. They released pressure, accessed peace, and remembered who they are and what they’re capable of. It was more than a workshop. It was a reclamation.
If you’ve been craving that kind of clarity, don’t miss the next one. 💫

P.P.S. I can’t believe we are halfway through summer already! August is a jam packed month, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m traveling this month to support my quarterly consulting clients, leading team-building and metric-tracking sessions to set them up for a strong Q4. At home, it’s back-to-school season, which means football for my son, dance for my daughter, and the huge life shift of officially having all high school and college kids now (!).
And in the middle of it all, Rich & Regulated is in full swing – reminding me daily how powerful women are when they lead from regulation, not reactivity.

Hi, it's Abigail
Hope you’re doing well! I wanted to share something important. We’ve been receiving feedback from potential customers who’ve visited your site, and many have said the mobile experience is frustrating and hard to navigate.
When a site doesn’t load smoothly or display correctly on phones, visitors often leave within seconds—without even seeing what you offer. Industry data shows that poor mobile responsiveness can cause businesses to lose up to 75% of potential customers.
Since most people now browse and shop from their phones, this could be having a serious impact on your sales.
I recommend reviewing your site on a mobile device to see it as your customers do. With a few targeted…
